The relevance of methane in climate action: Ensuring implementation and ambition in reducing methane emissions through actions and NDC commitments

One year after the Global Methane Pledge’s launch, it is time to ensure implementation and ambitious methane cuts. Speaker(tbc) from Climate and Clean Air Coalition will provide opening remarks of the state of affairs regarding global methane emissions and the importance of reducing these. Then, Kathleen Mar will present the impact of methane on biodiversity and health. Tim Grabiel from EIA, Changing Markets and Gaia will present which measures signatories can take to put in place effective methane mitigation policies in energy, agriculture and waste respectively, and the steps that need to be taken to build a new global agreement to ensure the implementation of the Global Methane Pledge and go beyond. And the Minister of Environment of Chile will announce the launch of the enhanced version of their NDCs, which include methane
